Clear the stage for the rally GTI – the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5. The all-wheel drive rally vehicle for customer sport, which is based on the new sixth generation Polo, celebrated a successful world premiere. The experience and know-how of four world championship titles won in the premier class WRC from 2013 to 2016 flowed into the development of the new rally athlete. In addition to technical director François-Xavier “FX” Demaison, Jan de Jongh, who was responsible for the overall project as chief project manager, was responsible for the Polo R WRC of world champion Sébastien Ogier.
